After taking a much needed break after Arizona I shifted goals slightly and started my year with a January run block. The purpose here was to find my true love again. Most of you know I am "classified" as a runner however, my most recent years of triathlon competing, I really didnt believe it. I did a "thing" last year and qualified for the Boston Marathon and I found the beginning of my 2018 schedule planning looking like nothing better then to focus on running. I have weddings, bachlorette parties, work and a ton of travel coming up. But hey-Just strap your shoes on and running becomes easy to train for.
The running block did it for me and I most definitely found love again. I ran in alot of cold places, alot of warm places, and saw alot of different sunrises.

If you are attempting to do something similar my most simple terms of advice are:
1) EASY DAYS EASY. Like super dynamite easy people.
2) Sleep alot.
3) Eat super healthy. I actually did my second round of whole 30 during this time period and I never felt better. Its been interesting putting the restricted carbs back into my system as of recently and seeing how they really effect you. I will never take for granted my pre-race nutrition now.
4) Be Patient. I ran super slow and felt like an extreme fatass the whole month of january. February hit and voila the work was paying off. Fitness will come if your smart.
In the mean time I started working with my Coaching business partner Matt Hanson as now official Coach going forward. Matt is known as the "running man", so I am excited to see where this leads. From a coach stand point we understand what it takes so now we just need to put the work in and be patient. My coaching roster is also officially full and I have a great line up of some very hard working and dedicated athletes!
