Fall Training

Enjoying the last couple of rides outside along the W&OD Trail before it gets too cold!!
Ouch!!!

I figured it had been a while since I last posted and it might be nice to give you a quick update before Ironman AZ. Arizona is now officially 3 weeks away, the hay is in the barn, and now I am just working on some fine tuning and relieving all that fatigue that I built up.You can see in my TSS chart from training peaks that currently the pink line (my fatigue) is bonkers, but I must say I am adapting pretty well and happy with the work that was done.

I am not going to go on about my fancy sessions, because honestly they were not that fancy, just a whole bunch of not pretty #work. There was not one week where I ran 37187321 miles or biked 1million times. There was not a "BIG" week, although it could be implicitly defined, nor was there a "recover" week. My Coach David is big on consistent work which allows the body to adapt and build. When you train at such a high volume all the time, it makes physical sense.

So if I am not going to give you the nitty gritty details of my super awesome training, then I thought it would be nice to share with you what Fall really looks like from a non Texas point of view. As most of you know I have moved back to the east coast and am enjoying the DMV area. It is really beautiful. I mean-- REALLY beautiful. The terrain has for sure made me stronger (hills!), and even on the days when it "hurts", I remind myself to look around at the natural beauty. This almost always works and helps me progress with the session. Believe it or not,  I do miss the heat (well really only when I start my rides in the early AM!)...

SO...here it is.... VA, DC, MD at its finest....
A run at Burke Lake--4.5 mile lake loop.
Great Falls, The MD side. There are two sides!
More Great Falls. This is actually apart of my bike route every weekend.
New Gear always helps get the  motivation rolling.
Even my Cat likes to ride my bike.

When you have to ride for so long and no one wants to go with you, they leave you treats instead!
And a few social media comments to leave you with....

See you in a couple weeks!
